Christmas Greetings from California
Gloating about the superior climate and flora: an old popular holiday tradition of Southern California residents, as can be seen in my collages of classic California Christmas cards.
The big difference today—besides the fact that a much smaller percentage of Californians identify as Christian—is that residents of the Southland don’t call so much attention to pepper trees and orange groves, formerly common and emblematic landscape features that have largely disappeared from the regional scene.
